Age: 20

Evin Kelly is a 3rd year student at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where he studies under the tutelage of Prof. Patricia Kavanagh. Prior to this he studied with John Chilton at the Chilton School of Music. Evin is currently on an Erasmus exchange for one year at the Sibelius Academy in Finland with Professor Matti Rantanen.

Evin began his musical studies at the age of six and holds every available title for the Classical Accordion in Ireland. He has been a prizewinner twice at the European Accordion Championships in Italy and was placed second amongst many of the best talents from Eastern Europe, at the International Accordion Competition in Kragujevac, Serbia. He has also received first prize at the ATG Accordion Championships in America as well as performing in concert at the festival.

This year saw Evin perform for the Ambassador of Ukraine at the 40th anniversary of the Irish Accordion Association. A keen chamber musician, Evin is also a member of a trio which claimed first prize in the Chamber Music Cup at the Feis Ceol this year. Evin is also a recipient of the Gaiety Bursary 2011.

Evin has taken part in Master Classes all over the world with many great and inspirational Professors. These include Yuri Shishkin, Oleg Sharov, Radomir Tomic, Vojin Vasovic, Mika Vayrenen and Frederic Deschamps, to name but a few. As well as individual master classes, Evin has taken part in chamber music Master Classes with Christopher Marwood and Master Classes in composition with Edgar Alandia.
