Maria Greenan is a student on the MMus programme, having graduated with a BMus in Performance from DIT in 2010. From Co. Cavan, Maria lived in London until the age of twelve and was fortunate to receive her early piano tuition from Susan Wynn, a specialist who works with students with disabilities. A student of Siobhan Kilkelly in DIT, she has participated in masterclasses with Prisca Benoit, Barry Douglas and Finghin Collins. She has enjoyed success in DIT Conservatory competitions, winning both the Senior Sonata Prize and the Briscoe Cup. Winner of the Senior Duet competition in the Feis Ceoil in 2008, in 2009 she took second prize in the Anthony Glavin Trophy. Maria has performed in a DIT prize winners’ concert in the John Field Room and last year she followed a lunchtime recital in DIT, with a performance in Boyle as part of the Boyle Arts Week. In April of this year, she performed the first movement of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with the DIT Symphony Orchestra in the National Concert Hall, under the baton of David Brophy. |
